What animals do you process?
Northwoods processes venison, bear, beef, pork, and lamb. Call ahead for current availability, especially for domestic livestock.
How is the meat packaged?
All meat is vacuum sealed.
What are your current prices?
Venison standard cut is $125. Bear standard processing and vacuum sealing is $225, including caping. Beef is $100 slaughter plus $0.85/lb processing. Pork is $60 slaughter plus $0.85/lb processing. Lamb is $110 all-inclusive. Bear breakfast sausage is +$2/lb, bear brats are +$3/lb, and wild-game rush service is +$50 when available. Deer caping is an additional $30.
How long does processing normally take?
Typical turnaround is about two to three days when workload allows. Timing changes with seasonal volume and your place in line. Tell the shop at drop-off if you have a travel deadline.
What payment methods do you accept?
Northwoods accepts cash, check, and credit or debit card.
When can I drop off an animal?
Hours vary by season and workload. Please call 906-883-3413 before visiting. Walk-ins are accepted, but most customers call ahead, especially for beef, pork, lamb, and bear.
Should I leave the hide on my deer?
Northwoods strongly recommends leaving the hide on and letting the shop skin the deer. This is not an absolute requirement, but deer skinned before arrival often collect dirt, leaves, oil, grease, and other contamination, which can require more cleaning than removing the hide at the plant. Northwoods does not accept quartered deer or roadkill.
What should bear hunters do before arriving?
Call ahead to confirm that the shop is accepting bear and to coordinate arrival.
Can I submit a cut sheet through the website?
No. The website provides printable processing guides only. View or download the guide for your animal, then call 906-883-3413 to confirm processing, arrival arrangements, and final cutting instructions directly with the shop.
How do I use the printable sheets?
Open the printable guide or pork cut sheet, then use your phone or computer's print or save-PDF option. Printing or downloading does not send anything to Northwoods. Bring the sheet to the shop or use it while discussing your instructions by phone.
Which product flavors are available?
Regular, jalapeño, teriyaki, and honey sriracha snack sticks are $6/lb, with a 10 lb minimum per flavor. Product availability can vary.
What should I bring for pickup?
Bring boxes or coolers for every order. After a ready-for-pickup notice, please collect your order within 24 to 48 hours unless you have made other arrangements.
